The Bio-Diversity Project explores the historical background of rhododendrons in the Temperate House at Kew Gardens, shedding light on the lasting impact of British colonialism. Through this research, the project aims to help audiences develop a more informed understanding of these historical influences.
To achieve this, the project’s visual identity (logo) inspired by traditional Chinese culture -- The Cuckoo Weeps Blood (杜鹃啼血). Building upon the visual identity (logo), the design has evolved into an engaging mobile interactive animation (with a mock-up display provided), and a visually striking printed poster (with a mock-up display provided). These design elements serve as tools to foster public interaction and dialogue on cultural diversity -- particularly bio-diversity (plant diversity).
Additionally, the project seeks to raise awareness of Kew Gardens' ongoing efforts and initiatives in preserving biodiversity, encouraging deeper public appreciation and support for conservation work.
