Rhododendron

Native to eastern Asia and the Himalayan region, it had become a firm favourite in British gardens by the 19th century. European collectors relied heavily on local guides to locate and collect rhododendron plants although these were not always given credit for their contributions. Due to the way the rhododendron has acclimatised and thrived in Britain, some consider it an invasive species.
