This project shows the pineapples sinister past, engaging with the user in the form of a game and fun unfolding book for Gen - z. Its sinister past links to plantations around South American, using people against their will. This is why Gen – z should learn about its past as it isn’t such an innocent fruit. In the game players can throw a ball at a concrete pineapple to smash it’s past and begin its future. It is paired alongside this book that reveals and educates the player about the pineapples past with illustrative photos of these concrete pineapples located all around London and Europe. Overall, this project highlighted the negative back story of the pineapple and how its story started as a symbol and sign of status.
