‘What Is Your Intention With Me?’ is a striking visual response to the archives at Kew Gardens, reflecting on botany and its current influence. Due to my adoration of ferns, they became the vessel for my idea; this project personifies and gives them a voice. The main goal is to promote equality between flora and humans, done through detailed photography and using Latin to give plants their identity back. It became clear that I was taking portraits of these ferns in the studio, therefore presenting them with human qualities. The outcomes for this brief include a large diptych of a Crocodile fern, as well as a compact poster of a Boston fern frond; replicating a handout you might find in a museum.
